Organic Certified Dates

This place is incredible. The date shakes are delicious, as are all the date-related concoctions available here (and there are many). In addition, you can get Middle Eastern treats and teas, date syrups, and even vegan date shakes. The folks who run this place are friendly and fun, and when our TV crew for Southwest Stories is on the road through the Imperial Valley, this is an absolutely necessary stop for us. We will be back. Again and again.

My friend shared some fresh, round, buttery dates with me a few weeks ago and they were so good I couldn't stop thinking about them. He told me he got them at this place so I finally visited today and I'm overwhelmed! It's such a strange little place (but bigger than I thought) with tons of middle eastern treats, candies, fresh local and imported honey, bread, snacks, ice cream, jams, cute little tea sets, coffee, tea, spices... And anything made with, containing, or related to DATES! ... I'm happy with the service and our purchases.

Any time I find myself in or near Imperial County, I make it a point to make the 30+ minute drive from the 8 to hit Westmoreland Date Shake for one of their heavenly date shakes. That's how good it is. The dates themselves are also splendid, and reasonably priced, so I load up on those too. A solid assortment of honey and friendly service make this a can't miss destination.
